What’s the difference between clever and intelligent? It seems like clever takes less time to create and digest. It’s the fast food of intelligence. Intelligence (whether it be images words or whatever) takes more thought (doy!) research, and the expectation of what it should deliver is higher. But clever is hard too. Two things just occurred to me.
One: the art world “faces to watch” article in the L.A. Times lists just two people who are already incredibly accomplished. How the fuck is this a story? And why only two?
Two: There is a whole subculture of people who travel around for the purpose of riding and judging roller coasters.
I think I’ll be watching that second group of people next...
